Did you partake in the just concluded JAMB UTME CBT examination? If yes, then you should know that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the 2022 JAMB UTME results. If you are yet to check your JAMB UTME result, then follow the procedures in this post to do so.

This is to inform all candidates who sat for the just concluded Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2022/2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that the result is out and available online. All candidates are advised to check their results through any of the approved methods.

How to Check Your JAMB UTME Result

There are two ways to check your JAMB UTME results, and that is via the online portal and via text message. In this post, I’ll be showing you how to check your JAMB 2022 UTME results via both platforms.

How to Check JAMB Result Online

To check your JAMB UTME results online without scratch card, follow the instructions below:

1. Go to the official JAMB result checking portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/ExamSlipPrinting/CheckUTMEResults
2. Enter your JAMB registration number or email address into the space provided
3. Click on “Check my result” icon below
4. Your JAMB UTME result will be displayed on the screen.

How to Check Your JAMB via Text Message

To check your JAMB result via SMS, follow the procedures below:

1. Go to the messaging app on your mobile phone
2. Click on new message
3. Enter the message “RESULT”
4. Send the message to 55019 using the phone number linked to your JAMB profile
5. Your JAMB UTME result will be sent to you via text message.

NOTE: You will be charged N50 from your airtime balance for the procedure.

JAMB Responses & Their Meaning 

Most people encounter various messages when they try to check their JAMB results. These messages indicate a particular type of issue on your JAMB profile or account. Knowing that these responses mean will help you solve them. The following are responses you can get while checking your JAMB result:

• “This phone number was not used for registration”. This means that the phone number used to send the text message is not the same as the one you entered during the registration process.
• “Result Withheld”. This message is sent to candidates whose results are withheld for one reason or the other.
• “Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/document required from you.” If you receive this message, then that means that there is an opportunity for your result to be release. Visit the JAMB portal and upload the required documents to release your result
• “CANDIDATE ABSENT” If you receive this text message, then it means that you were absent on the day of the exam, or you were not accredited before sitting for the exam
• “Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall” This message is sent to candidates who gained unauthorized access to the UTME examination hall.

How to Print Your Original JAMB Result

To print your original JAMB result, follow the procedures below:

1. Visit the JAMB e-facility portal
2. Click on “Print Result Slip” on the left sidebar of the portal
3. A transaction ID will be generated for you.
4. You are required to make a payment of N1000 to print out your original JAMB result
5. Tap on “Continue to Payment” on the portal
6. Click on “Pay now” to make payment
7. Select your preferred payment method (MasterCard, Internet banking, etc.)
8. Follow the on-screen instructions for the payment method you selected and make to make the payment
9. After making the payment you will be asked to provide the following details;
   1. Year of Examination
   2. JAMB registration number
10. Click on “print result slip”

NOTE: The JAMB Original Result Slip must contain your passport photograph on it.
